50's/60's/70's Rockin' For Risk Fundraising Dance

To Whom It May Concern:

My name is Brenda Reisch and I currently hold the position of Executive Director for Children at Risk, Ottawa. Children at Risk is a community-support charity that provides services for Autistic children and their families, assisting close to 400 families in Ottawa and the surrounding region who are raising a child with Autism. Through our community-based programs, workshops and seminars, we extend support for not only the child with Autism, but the entire family. All services are financed solely by donations and fundraising activities and events - like our Annual 50s/60s/70s retro rock charitable dance!

2009 marks our 8th year of holding "Rockin' for Risk" - and the 8th year we are delighted to welcome back again Intersection as our live band! Originally recommended by HOPE, this community-minded group of local, talented musicians, led by Michel Jette, has not disappointed our annual following of close to 500 patrons. For a reasonable cost, they have provided excellent music to correspond with the retro years our event features. Intersection also has demonstrated welcome flexibility with the night's schedule to allow for other participants like Elvis and Arthur Murray dancers. In addition, they have assisted our charity with promotion, ticket sales and event consultation to improve and streamline the dance - year after year!

I would highly recommend Intersection for any holiday dance, party or fundraising event where you are looking for the action and sound of a live band. The quality of their sound, their willingness to accommodate special requests and their team-like efforts have ensured Intersection a lifetime gig for Rockin' for Risk"! Community supports for families raising a child with Autism are of utmost importance! With this devastating diagnosis of Autism, a life-long disability, now being estimated as high as 1 in every 150 children, Children at Risk's programs are needed more than ever.
